On March 17, the 2026 NIU Technologies New Tech Product Launch took place in Beijing. As the world’s first AI-powered smart two-wheeler infotainment system, NIU is equipped with cutting-edge features including UWB smart digital key and UWB rear radar for two-wheelers. With all-round upgrades in performance, intelligence and safety, it redefines the two-wheeler riding experience.

As the core supplier of this launch, Changsha Chixin Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Chixin Semiconductor"), together with Chengdu KNOWNO Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "KNOWNO"), provides automotive-grade UWB radar solutions for all models of the NIU AIOS, U3 Series. Featuring centimeter-level precise sensing, 120° wide field of view and over 15-meter long-distance detection, the solutions resolve users’ core riding pain points such as rearview mirror blind spots, rear approaching hazards and lane change risks, build a solid safety barrier for two-wheeler riding, and jointly drive the intelligent and safe upgrading of the industry with NIU Technologies.

With the rapid development of the domestic two-wheeler mobility industry, electric two-wheelers and electric motorcycles have become core transportation tools for residents’ short-distance commuting and urban delivery, with the national social ownership exceeding 400 million units. Meanwhile, riding safety issues have become increasingly prominent. Among them, lane change collisions, turning scrapes and overtaking accidents caused by vehicle rear-side blind spots account for more than 60% of total two-wheeler traffic accidents. Thus, BSD (Blind Spot Detection) has become a core rigid demand for the industry’s safety upgrading.

Three core highlights of NIU’s newly launched product series are UWB digital smart key, BSD blind spot detection & warning, and sentinel mode. The realization of these functions relies on ultra-wideband (UWB) integrated communication and sensing technology, a new generation of information technology.

With 5 years of solid technical accumulation, Chixin Semiconductor has overcome key technical bottlenecks and provided safe and high-quality UWB chips to the world. Chixin Semiconductor and KNOWNO have carried out in-depth collaboration, integrated automotive-grade safety standards into two-wheeler mobility scenarios, and delivered ready-to-use two-wheeler solutions for NIU that "visualize blind spots and prevent risks".

Centered on Chixin Semiconductor’s self-developed UWB chip CX320, this solution adopts an automotive-grade modular design and consists of three core modules: vehicle body UWB anchor unit, main control processing unit, and human-machine interaction warning unit, forming a full-link blind spot detection closed loop of "sensing-computing-warning". The blind spot detection system empowered by Chixin UWB chips conducts real-time scanning within a 50-meter range around the vehicle. With centimeter-level ranging capability, strong anti-interference performance and stable near-field sensing, it accurately captures core data such as the distance, position and relative movement speed of motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles, pedestrians and other targets in blind spots. When there are approaching vehicles or potential hazards from the rear side, the system sends intuitive reminders via warning lights to assist riders in safe lane changes. In the RCW (Rear Collision Warning) scenario, it continuously detects rear targets and issues risk prompts when necessary, effectively reducing rear-end collision risks and fully meeting safety needs under complex urban road conditions.
